GENUS : PERAPENAEOPSIS
Epipodites present on 1st and 2nd pereopods
2nd pereopods with basial spines
Telson with pair of fixed subapical spines
Rostrum sigmoid-shaped, strongly upcurved and atleast
distal half of free portion of rostrum unarmed
Distolateral projections of petasma slender, horn-like
and straight, directed anterolaterally and with ventro-external openings
Distomedian projections small and curved ventrally
The anterior plate of thelycum square, concave
with slender stem-like posterior process, posterior plate deeply notched
anterolaterally
Epipodites absent on 1st and 2nd pereopod
2nd pereopods without basial spines, telson without
fixed spines, cephalothorax has a prominent red spot on the dorsal side
Rostrum is sigmoid-shaped in females and young
males, but in adult males, it is straight
The distolateral projections of petasma simply
tapering to end, each with a long distomedian spine like processes
The anterior plate of thelycum wide and short,
with curved anterior amrgin and with two longitudinal ridges, medially
fused with the quadrate posterior plate.
Telson without fixed subapical spines, with or without lateral movable
spines
1/3 pr less free portion of rostrum unarmed
Petasma with a pair of long slender horn-like
distolateral projections, diverging proximally and curving inward distally,
without small dorsal spiniform processes, distomedian projections extremely
small
The anterior plate of thelycum subquardrate, posteriorly depressed and
medially fused to posterior plate., the latter with a pair of lateral depressions
and median boss
A median tuft of long setae (hairs) behind the
thelycum
Petasma with a pair of distolateral projections directed laterally or
distolaterally, short and spout like
Post rostral carina reaching almost to posterior border of carapace
Antennular flagella 0.4-0.6 length of carapace, movable lateral spines
absent on telson
In males, petasma with long, rabbit ear-shaped
distomedian projections, deeply concave ventrally, distolateral projections
short, directed anterolaterally, proximolateral lobes very large, and curved
dorsally
The thelycum with anterior plate distally rounded
and broadly articulating with posterior plate, the latter with a median
tubercle bearing a tuft of long setae
Antennular flagella 0.6 length of carapace or longer movable lateral
spines present on telson
Petasma with distomedian projections wing-like,
wider than long, their anterior margin often crenulate distolateral projections
short and directed laterally, proximolateral lobes very large, curved dorsally
Thelycum with anterior plate concave, rounded
anteriorly; posterior plate flat, with a pair of anterolateral tooth-like
projections, anteromedian margin slightly convex and bearing transverse
row of long setae
Epigastric spine absent
Anterior plate of thelycum with V-shaped posterior edge and two accessory
ridges on anterior edges of posterior plate
Rostrum with proximal 1/3 rising from carapace, remainder more or less
horizontal.
The disto-lateral projections are slender and downward
